Cationic cellulose is a polymer that has superior water solubility and adsorption capacity, compatibility with anionic, cationic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants. Its low irritancy and unique cationic properties help repair damaged hair and keep hair well moisturized, providing excellent hair combability and gloss. Cationic cellulose is also useful in skin care applications for maintaining skin hydration, preventing skin cracking, and enhancing skin suppleness.

Polyquaternium-10 can smooth damaged hair scales and maintain hair silky, it is suited to repair shampooed, dyed, or permed hair. It is recommended to add 0.2% to 0.5% in hair care products, and 0.1% to 0.3% in skin cleansing products. Since cationic cellulose is a polymer that dissolves in water, it should be gradually added to the aqueous solution that is already being stirred. A quick stir and heat source will accelerate the powder dissolution. A small amount of agglomeration has no significant impact on use and it is easily dissolved into the water. Then add the completely swollen solution into the uniform surface active system.
A little lye (sodium hydroxide or triethanolamine, etc.) can be added to change the pH to 8 and stir, enabling the cationic cellulose to be rapidly swollen.
